CAF releases 2026/27 Champs League calendar
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the calendar for the 2026/27 CAF Champions League campaign for top clubs on the continent.
The continental competition’s first preliminary round first legs are scheduled for September 4 to 6 2026 and the return leg on September 11 to 13, according to a calendar from CAF.

The second preliminary round first-leg matches are set for October 16 to 18 and return fixtures from October 23 to 25.
Teams that will qualify will proceed to the group stage campaign to run from November 27 2026 to January 24 2027.
According to the calendar, the competition’s finals will take place between May 9 and May 31 2027.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) club licensing and competitions manager Clement Kafwafwa in an interview confirmed the CAF calendar.
He said: “What is remaining now is the stadiums the inspection for CAF to determine if they are fit to host these fixtures.
“Local inspectors will inspect Bingu National Stadium on July 8 and we will submit a report to CAF by July 10.
“CAF will then make its determination on the stadium from the report”
The release of the fixtures gives Malawi representatives Mighty Wanderers several weeks to intensify preparations for competition.
Wanderers football director David Kanyenda was not available for comment on the team’s preparations.
Wanderers qualified for the Champions League after winning the 2025 topflight league.
