Chileka based reggae group The Black Missionaries on Saturday night were in a class of their own when they performed at The Village @ Mandevu Farm in Machinga district.

The setting was good because hundreds thronged to the venue.

It was not surprising to see that people were starved of entertainment as they started dancing when the equipment was being tested.

First to jump on stage was Yanjanani Chumbu and then it was Moda Fumulani. Both gave out their best.

When Peter Amiduh announced that time for Anthony Makondesa was ripe people became ecstatic while shouting Muyuda! Muyuda! Muyuda! And Makondesa obliged.

Last to jump on stage was Anjiru Fumulani and he performed almost all the songs from Kuimba 9.

In an interview Anjiru said he was excited with the turnout.

“When we saw a large group of people we said we should give our best. We are very grateful for the support,” he said.

The band will be on an international tour of Botswana, Ireland and the United Kingdom (UK) in August.
