Newly turned gospel artist, Armstrong Kalua, might have a breakthrough to put Malawian gospel music on the world map.

The artist has announced that he is working on his debut gospel album titled Worship Core which will be his second since he sprung to fame.

Armstrong told The Nation that the album and videos will be mastered in South Africa and the United Kingdom(UK).

“I have already recorded three songs Wayankha, Higher Higher and Ndilandireni, here with JAMMC Studios in Green Corner, Blantyre,” he said.

Armstrong said Worship Core is poised to feature gospel greats Kirk Franklin, Sipho Makhabane, Sinach, Don Moen and Hillsong.

“My ticket is ready and I will be leaving next week Tuesday for recording of my new album,” he said.

However, Armstrong who has already recorded three tracks for the album, could not name the studios to record the album. He said his promoter, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, has kept that a secret as he would like to surprise him.

“I just know I will record my music in South Africa and UK and Prophet Bushiri has told me that he has booked a high profile studio,” said the artist.

He also revealed that the sponsor composed some of the songs in the album.

The Nation

took an initiative to check on Kirk Franklin’s schedule through his Facebook page and has established that Armstrong’s trip will coincide with Franklin’s South Africa tour from December 6 to 8, 2013

Franklin is a multi-award winning American gospel musician who is well-known for his fusion of gospel, hip-hop, pop and R&B. Sinach, an award winning songwriter, worship leader and recording artist, is a key member of the Love World music team of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Christ Embassy.

Sipho Makhabane is a South African gospel artist, while Don Moen is an American singer-songwriter, pastor and producer of Christian worship music. On the other hand, Jesus Culture is a Christian band from California, USA and Hillsong is an Australian Christian rock and worship band.

Armstrong pledged that Worship Core which is a worship album fused with electric string guitars will have the best that has ever been heard from him.
