Canada-based Nathan Banda will tomorrow (Thursday) launch a book that chronicles his life as a boy, growing up in a poor country such as Malawi. The event will take place at the Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.

Titled Moments That Shaped My Life, the autobiography tells a story of a man whose humble beginnings did not prevent him from soaring high academically to become an admirable person in the medical profession.

The 174-page book is written in a conversational style with Banda’s three children who have always wanted to know their father’s upbringing in Malawi.

Said Banda: “I wanted to share my story with the rest of the world to inspire others.”

The book gives a detailed account of Banda’s life from the formative age of six to 14 years.

It also chronicles memorable days in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions and also talks about Banda’s current life.

“Following a successful launch in Canada, the book has opened a can of worms with my publisher and people asking what should be the next step. There will be a series of three if not four books.

“The response is good and there are windows of opportunities opening up which I never thought about. I have partnered with a couple of elementary schools and I will be holding motivation talks with their students,” he said.

According to Banda, former vice-president Justin Malewezi will grace the launch.

The next re-launch is scheduled for Minnesota, USA on November 14, 2013.
