Ozone Leisure Centre marks the opening of a thrilling weekend with Alleluya Band meeting their founding father Paul Banda in a concert on Saturday night.

According to Ozone proprietor Francis Khunga, the nocturnal jam at the vast venue near Area 5 Police Station in Machinjiri will usher fans into a Sunday sun downer with Chileka-based reggae stars, Anthony Makondetsa and Black Missionaries.

However, the Alleluya do, coming a few hours after Malawi national football team’s face-off with Zimbabwe at Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial capital, marks yet another chapter in the band’s 35th anniversary tour that started with the knighting of its legends in Balaka last month.

“I am gratified that Alleluya asked us to host their 35th anniversary concert in Blantyre. This, coupled with Blacks’ show on Sunday afternoon, assures fans of a thrilling time at Ozone. I can only encourage them to come in large numbers,” said Khunga in an interview on Sunday.
