Bashir gears up for WBC final eliminator bout

Malawi’s top female boxer Anisha ‘The Massacre’ Bashir says she is ready to tear apart undefeated Chantelle Cameron tomorrow to earn a shot at unified world champion Katie Taylor.

On her arrival in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, the 23-year-old told mtkglobal.com that she believes her undoubted power will be far too much for Cameron to cope with during their 10-round World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight bout at Brentwood Centre in London.

Bashir (R) is confident of beating undefeated Cameron

Bashir’s record stands at eight knock-out (KO) wins and five defeats while 27-year-old Cameron has a perfect record of 10-straight wins, including seven KOs.

“My power comes from the heart. They call me ‘The Massacre’ and I’m going to massacre Cameron on Saturday night,” she was quoted as having said.

“I believe I am stronger than her. I am not coming for a holiday, shopping or to see London. I am not coming for chit-chat and tea. I am coming all guns blazing.”

The reigning Commonwealth lightweight champion added that she will show boxing lovers that she is the true world lightweight champion and that Cameron is just a bridge to her way to beating Taylor.

“I hope Taylor shows up on the night to see what she is going to go up against. I look forward to meeting her. I am going to knock Cameron out and then take her belts.”

Cameron fired back at Bashir on worldboxingnews.net, saying she will force the Malawian to eat her words

“I have got speed, power, and boxing ability, but she is one-dimensional. I would like to see what she is going to say after the fight,” she said.
