Big Bullets’ goal drought continued yesterday when they were held to a barren draw by Civo United at Kamuzu United in the TNM Super League.

The People’s Team has gone three games without a win, a situation that has created instability and discomfort in the red side of town.

They lost to Moyale 0-1 and held Mzuzu United 1-1 in their opening second-round fixtures last weekend.

The Bullets are still on seventh position with 23 points from 17 games while Civo are 10th with 18 points.

Both teams created a plethora of chances, but sadly, failed to make them count with Nelson Kangunje the notable culprit.

He hit the post just after the start of the second half and was unlucky when his header went over the bar from close range later on.

Bullets also had their moments, but Chimango Kayira and Diverson Mlozi were unlucky not to get on the score sheet.

Bullets coach Eddie Ng’onamo expressed disappointment with the result.

“We tried, but we just couldn’t score.

“We wanted a win because the second-round is getting tough. Our strikers failed to ultilise the chances we created, but we’ll try to work on our shortfalls,” said Ng’onamo.

His Civo counterpart Thom Mkorongo said: “We had good chances, but failed to ultilise them.”

Most of the games yesterday ended in draws as Mighty Wanderers also held Azam Tigers to a goalless draw. Red Lions were also held to a 2-2 draw by Mponela while Epac and Blue Eagles drew 1-1.

Before the Bullets versus Civo match, league sponsors TNM held a carnival in the streets of Blantyre which culminated at Kamuzu Stadium.
