Bullets extend Ramadhan’s stay

As the TNM Super League title chase heads towards the climax, Big Bullets FC has extended Burundian tactician Nsazurwimo Ramadhan’s stint.

Bullets general secretary Harold Fote said Ramadhan, who was initially scheduled to return to his base South Africa on November 1, will see out the remaining games.

“The initial arrangement was that he was supposed to return to South Africa on November 1, but considering the critical stage which the league has reached, we have negotiated for his extended stay so that he sees out the remaining games.

“So far we are satisfied with his input and the fruits are there for all to see because we are now able to score more goals,” said Fote, citing the games against Chikwawa United and Karonga United as examples.

Ramadhan confirmed in an interview with MBC Radio 2 on Saturday that he will indeed extend his stay.

“I am still here, it is only the Department of Home Affairs and Immigration who know how long I am supposed to be here. Afterall I am here on holiday and I am just assisting the team because of my past involvement with it.

“Regardless of what happened in Dedza [during the game against Kamuzu Barracks], I am happy to be here. Kuno ndikumudzi, ndipo zinthu zili kukoma [this is my home and things are going on well],” said Ramadhan.

Bullets engaged Ramadhan early last month in a quest to improve the team’s firepower.

Bullets on Sunday created a six-point gap at the top of the table after beating rookies Karonga United 3-1.
