Despite the defeat, the newly-promoted Lilongwe-based side’s head coach Macdonald Mtetemera said his charges are ready for their debut season in the top-flight.

He said: “I don’t look for results in friendly games, but to see if the players are applying what we have been teaching them during training.

“So, I am very happy with the performance in today’s game. They have proved that they are ready for Super League and what we need now is just to polish up some lapses.

“These games are played to look out for mistakes so that we can correct them. It’s not a league game and we just need to encourage them.”

On the other hand, Kamuzu Barracks coach Charles Kamanga said despite the win, they have grey areas that need to be worked on before the league kicks off.

“Despite the win we still have some areas to work on . Nevertheless, I have confidence that this season we will do better than last season. We will also beef up squad with new faces before the start of the season,” he said. KB played six pre-season games, they won five and lost one. On the other hand, Creck Sporting won three matches and lost one.
