FCB Nyasa Bullets have said they are planning to send three injured players, namely goalkeeper Clever Mkungula , defending midfielder Frank Willard and left-back Alick Lungu to Zimbabwe for further treatment.

The People’s Team chief administration officer Albert Chigoga yesterday  said a hospital where the trio will be treated has already been identified in Harare.

One of the injured players: Mkungula

“We have been advised that the injuries they suffered cannot be cured here; hence, the decision to send them to Zimbabwe,” he said.

Chigoga said their women’s side player Zainab Kapanda also underwent a successful surgery in Zimbabwe.

Commenting on midfielder Mike Mkwate’s recovery progress after undergoing a successful broken mid-tibiofibular reconstruction surgery on his right foot last November, he said: “Mkwate is still undergoing rehabilitation.”

Bullets were hit by injuries last season and their head coach Kalisto Pasuwa attributed the situation to crammed domestic fixtures.

At some point the Zimbabwean gaffer said the crammed diary was a cause for concern as they tried to navigate both domestic and international fixtures amid injuries to eight of their key players.
