Card for collaboration with media houses
Three humanitarian organisations have called for collaboration with media houses to ensure that their activities are relayed to the public for greater impact and increased partnership opportunities.
The trio, Churches Action in Relief and Development (Card), Find Your Feet and Malawi Red Cross Society, made the call on Friday during a media engagement in Blantyre.
During the event, the organisations also made presentations on their activities which can be sources of development content that the media needs in its productions.
Card executive director Melton Luhanga said there are many stories that the organisations can share through the media.
He said: “Those that support us will know that we are not only accountable to them, but even to the public that we serve through showcasing success stories, communication of organisational activities, hosting high-level media engagement meetings, execution of media campaigns and facilitating mentorship and coaching sessions with reporters and presenters.”
On her part, Find Your Feet executive director Melina Mtonga said the meeting was convened to address the gaps where the media houses needed to come in.
