If I were

Speaker of Parliament, I would act on Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba and Secretary for Energy Alfonso Chikuni for contempt of Parliament.

If I were the head of the Legislature, I would realise that no one is above the law and that the two need to be taken to task for ignoring summons to appear before the representatives of the people they claim to serve.

How I wish I were the Speaker because I would appreciate that the picture being portrayed out there is that I am treating them with kid gloves because one of them is the SPC.

I would realise that what they did was tantamount to degrading Parliament; hence, the need for me to uphold the law and protect the integrity of Parliament by bringing them to book.

Oh yes, If I were in charge of the House of oversight and accountability,  I would drum into the duo the importance of them responding to the damning allegations levelled against them because silence only portrays them as arrogant and complicit.

I would instantly issue warrants against them.

But I am not Madam Speaker.
