Flames centre-back Lawrence Chaziya’s managers Royal Soccer Scout have ruled out the possibility of the player signing for a TNM Super League club.

The France-based Fifa licensed agency’s managing director Amodou Fontem Tigana said in an interview yesterday that they got inquiries from TNM Super League giants Nyasa Big Bullets, Silver Strikers and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on Chaziya.

“But for the moment, he is not available for a local club. He can’t sign for any of them,” Tigana said.

The agent claimed he is close to completing a deal for Chaziya with an undisclosed European club.

Tigana said: “He will return to Europe very soon. I am close to completing a deal for him. He just has to be patient. By January 31, something will work out. So, I told him to wait first.”

Tigana’s stance puts to rest the race among the local giants for the centre-back’s signature after he returned home in November.

Jordanian Pro League side Al Hussein Irbid SC signed 26-year-old Chaziya after his impressive performance for the Flames at Cameroon Africa Cup of  Nations (Afcon)finals in January 2022.

However, they released the player at the end of his 10-month contract in November 2022.

Upon his return, Chaziya, who made his Flames debut in a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe at Afcon when he replaced injured captain Limbikani Mzava, said he was looking forward to new challenges.

“It is time to face new challenges. I will wait for offers and will make a decision with my family,” he said.

But Tigana expressed disappointment with Chaziya’s performance in Jordan after failing to convince the club to renew his contract.

He said: “Players don’t know how we work to get a contract for them. It’s not easy to get a contract in Europe. When they get the contract, they don’t want to work hard to secure the job. But I will make sure he travels back. He will sign for new club very soon
