Malimusi said the accident happened at Saidi Village on Chikwawa escarpments as the two were travelling in a Toyota Land Cruiser registration MJ 1737 from Blantyre to Chikwawa District.

He said the accident happened after Chasukwa, who was driving the vehicle, experienced brake failure while descending and negotiating a bend towards Thabwa Roadblock.

The driver is said to have missed the road, hitting a tree on the left, prompting the vehicle to overturn several times.

According to Malimusi, both priests sustained minor injuries.

In a related development, a freight liner truck registration MH 5884/MH 5575 fell on its side around Dyeratu Trading Centre in Chikwawa District when the load it carried went on one side making it to lose balance.

Malimusi said the incident happened on Thursday evening when the truck, which carried bags of maize husks, was coming from Liwonde in Machinga going to Ngabu in Chikwawa. n
