Chilemba secures WBC title bout
Celebrated South Africa-based boxer Isaac ‘Golden Boy’ Chilemba has secured a WBC silver super middleweight bout against Russian Pavel Silyagin.
However, the former Malawian world champion said they are still waiting for the actual date and venue from the organiers.
He said: “It has been quite a while since I last fought and I cannot wait to get back into the ring.
“Preparations are going on well and by the time I face him [Silyagin] I will be more than ready for him.”
Chilemba last fought in February this year against WBA gold super middleweight champion Russian Fedor Chudinov which ended in a draw.
The 34-year-old Chilemba has won 26 (10 KOs) of his 36 bouts, losing seven (one KO) and drawing seven.
He won the IBO super middleweight title in 2010 which made him scale lofty heights and rose to become one of the top boxers in the world.
On the other hand, the 28-year-old Silyagin has won all his eight fights, four through knockout.
