Chilumba SDA Church Choir opened the New Year in style with the launch of CDs for its two albums at Comesa International Conference Centre in Blantyre.

The two albums, titled Timuyamike and Nthawi yatha, were produced in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

Chairperson of the choir, Clement Twaya, said the aim of the launch was to preach the word of God through music.

“We decided to have a double launch because the first album was loved by many, but we did not have the resources to fully launch it and that is why we have combined the launch.

“Our message in Timuyamike is encouraging all believers of our Lord Jesus Christ to praise Him in all circumstances,” said Twaya.

According to Twaya, most Christians only worship God when things are not going well but when God has answered their prayers, they go back to their old ways.

“In the second album, we are simply telling the people that time has lapsed and people need to be pray in truth and in spirit. There is no time to fool around,” he said.

The group, which has 21 members, was formed in 2005 and is being sponsored by Mpesa Music Centre.
