Clubs cautious on transfers
Though the January transfer window is in full swing, TNM Super League giants are approaching the market cautiously that no high profile transfer has been recorded.
However, the movement of coaches between TNM Super League clubs has stolen the limelight.
Defending champions Silver Strikers have not made any new signings as they have been preoccupied with ensuring they keep the bulk of their title winning squad whose contracts are in their last six months.
Goalkeeper Charles Thom, Maxwell Paipi, Innocent Shema, Chimwemwe Idana, Mischeck Seleman and Tatenda M’balaka are yet to renew their contracts.

But the Bankers have succeeded in retaining defending midfielder Levison Maganizo on a two-year deal.
Silver chief executive officer Patrick Chimimba said they are confident of retaining all the players.
“Contract negotiation is a process. So far, so good. We are making progress,” he said.
On their part, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC have announced the signing of Promise Kamwendo, who failed to join them last season following a controversial deal which was halted by Football Association of Malawi.
The Nomads have also inquired about Civil Service United’s Masiya Manda who has been pegged at K10 million.
The Lali Lubani outfit is also on the verge of completing a deal with Mzuzu City Hammers FC’s first-choice goalkeeper, Chancy Mtete.
He is considered a possible replacement for Flames goalkeeper William Thole, who has refused to renew his contract which expires on February 17.
Wanderers chief executive officer Panganeni Ndovi said they are in no hurry to sign players.
“We don’t have to panic-buy players. We need to buy only when theire is need to,” he said.
Bullets have unveiled Blessings Joseph from Chitipa United and Chikumbutso Henderson from Mzuzu City Hammers.
However, they face a players’ exodus as some including captain Gomezgani Chirwa, Precious Phiri, Nickson Nyasulu and Alick Lungu are in Zimbabwe seeking greener pastures .
Attacker Stanley Billiat is also reluctant to extend his contract as he is not comfortable with the conditions offered.
Reports have it that Bullets have offered the player a two-year contract proposal to the player and be loaned out for the whole period, a condition he is not happy with.
Bullets acting chief executive officer Albert Chigoga in an interview said they will not force the players to sign contracts.
“If they want to leave let them, do so. No player is bigger than the club,” he said.
Zimbabwean trio of Kenneth Pasuwa, Ronald Chitiyo and Collins Mujuru already left following the departure of compatriot coach Kallisto Pasuwa.
So far, Mujuru has joined Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Green Fuel FC on a one-year deal.
