College MCP wing cheers mothers at Bwaila Hospital

Lilongwe Technical College Malawi Congress Party (MCP) affiliated students on Sunday cheered mothers and their babies at the Kangaroo Ward at Bwaila Hospital in Lilongwe.

Twenty students led by their president Dickson Mkhosi donated assorted items, including sugar, bath and laundry soap and body lotions.

In an interview after presenting the donation, Mkhosi said youths have a responsibility to serve their communities, especially the vulnerable.

“I know the image many people have about youths who belong to political parties is that of violence. We want to change that perception and portray the youth as responsible people who can transform society,” he said.

Prior to the the donation the students prayed for the well-being of the mothers and their babies.

MCP Mbidzi Ward aspiring candidate Howard Malamba Banda said the youth should have a mindset of giving and serving communities and advocating for peace all the time.

One of the beneficiaries, Anita Njobvu from Kauma,thanked the students for the initiative.  n
