Cops zero in on suspects in Crossroads Hotel abduction
Police say they have identified persons of interest in the abduction of Crossroads Hotel managing director Sameer Sacranie and are working closely with his family as investigations intensify.
National Police spokesperson Lael Chimtembo said in a statement issued yesterday that investigations were launched immediately after the incident was reported on February 6.

“There are persons of interest in the matter and MPS is working closely with the victim’s family as efforts to resolve the case continue,” he said.
Sacranie was abducted around 10:30am by three men dressed in white robes who ambushed him as he arrived at his office inside the hotel premises.
The suspects fired two shots into the air before forcing him into a Toyota Fortuner and fleeing the scene.
Police later recovered the getaway vehicle, which was found abandoned in Area 6. The vehicle had been fitted with two different registration numbers—KA 1444 and KK1008.
Meanwhile, Chimtembo has appealed to anyone with useful information to report through the Police Hotline on 0884 733 333 or at any nearest police station.
He also cautioned the public against circulating unverified information on social media, saying this may compromise ongoing investigations.
Police have assured the public that every effort is being made to ensure the victim’s safe recovery and that justice is served.
