Said Uka: “Deloitte is an advisory firm engaged in auditing, tax and other advisory services.

“However, we believe that we have a purpose beyond the profits we make from our business and that purpose extends to doing corporate social responsibility.”

Aquaid Lifeline Malawi general manager Angus Gaisford said their partnership with Deloitte Malawi is crucial, adding that it has encouraged the institution to realise its goal of contributing towards the country’s education.

“Partnerships are really important because we all have different skills and talents and in this particular instance, the funding that came from Deloitte was crucial because we had the centre but we didn’t have funding to commence operations,” he said.

A student who graduated in tailoring and fashion design, Faith Kavuli, said she is ready to contribute to the country’s economy.

She said she is planning to establish a tailoring and fashion design shop where she will create jobs for other youths.
