Domasi College wears new face
Domasi College of Education principal Arkangel Mtipe Yambeni has commended government for improving infrastructure at the institution to create a conducive environment for both teachers and students.
He said this on Tuesday when journalists visited the college to appreciate several developments that have taken place in the past months.

Yambeni said the construction of a 26-office complex has created space for both deans and lecturers.
He said: “Despite having a big student population, the infrastructure was the same. However, the new office complex will accommodate our staff in a safe environment.
“Again, government has constructed a library which accommodates 570 students. It comprises a digital library, discussion section and electronic catalogue. This replaced our old library which was small and could only accommodate 150 students.”
Yambeni also said the construction of two lecture theatres and six girls’ hostels is another milestone.
“The new theatre accommodates 150 students,” he said.
A student Trizzer Jafali said the old library could not accommodate all students.
“We also thank government for furnishing the new laboratories with new equipment,” she said.
Ministry of Higher Education spokesperson Gift Chiponde said the new infrastructure aligns with the ministry’s strategic priorities.
“The resource centre and library will foster academic excellence as they will provide access to up-to-date resources. The administration block enhances institutional efficiency, improving governance and the delivery of essential services,” he said.
Chiponde said the developments underscore the unwavering commitment to strengthen teacher education and creating conducive learning environments
