The Easter period is here once again and given the nature of the holidays, families and individuals deem it the perfect time to engage in entertainment activities.

During this period, people travel to tourist destinations on vacation and others patronise entertainment events. As per tradition, most event organisers have organised several entertainment activities across Malawi such that fun seekers are spoilt for choice.

Set to perform: Zeze Kingston

Among those that have taken the lead in organising such events Sunbird Tourism plc who have organised two separate shows, one on Saturday at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach Campsite, which will feature Lulu and another at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre, which will star Afro-soul artist Praise Umali.

In an interview yesterday, Sunbird Tourism plc head of sales, marketing and distribution Temwa  Kanjadza said there is always  hunger for entertainment among people during Easter, which is usually a long weekend.

She said they have organised the two events to ensure that the guests at their various facilities are accorded wholesome family entertainment.

“The two artists are among the best. The type of experience and entertainment they bring on stage caters for everyone. We want our patrons to enjoy this experience as they rest during the holiday,” she said.

And in Mzuzu, the Beerland Festival has organised an event dubbed Extreme Carnival at Springs Park on Saturday. Amapiano music star Zeze Kingston, Chrispy Malawi and Merchah will headline the event.

Beerland Festival director Kennedy Maluwa said they have always been motivated by the idea of offering equal entertainment opportunities to every Malawian regardless where they stay.

He said: “We know that during this period there will be a lot of events happening. The trick is not to concentrate the activities in one place or city. We believe the people from Mzuzu will have one of their best Easter holidays ever.”

After exciting music lovers with the Namadingo versus Lulu Clash of Titans show last weekend, Epic Exclusive Lounge in Lilongwe will this Saturday host what they have dubbed the ‘Clash of Titans Episode 2’ featuring Namadingo and Afro-pop giant Onesimus.

Epic Exclusive executive director Yollam Kawanga said the show follows public demand.

“Our job is simply to provide what excites our customers. Everyone enjoyed what they saw last weekend and we are not surprised that they have asked for another round of a similar jam. We are excited to bring this second clash of Malawi’s best,” he said.
