Ecobank Malawi officials on Friday interacted with some shop owners in Blantyre to demonstrate the benefits of using Ecobank Pay, a multi-featured digital payment solution.

Ecobank Pay, which has been running for three years, is built as a core part of Ecobank’s digital financial services ecosystem approach and can be used by all businesses from micro, small, medium to large corporates as well as governments.

Ecobank Pay also enables easy and convenient payment options to customers in-store or online.

“Ecobank is committed to simplifying doing business for the people it serves and Ecobank Pay is a payment solution channel that makes payments easier, faster, convenient and more secure,” said Victoria Chanza, Ecobank Malawi head of commercial banking, who led a team of bank officials during the interaction.

“The good thing about this is that it is absolutely free and Ecobank customers with a business account can self-register via Ecobank Rafiki Messenger and WhatsApp number +28870355979.”

Wezi Nkhana, owner of WT Organics, a shop that stocks and sells hair, beauty and health products, said Ecobank Pay enables her to track sales and easily produce financial reports.

“Ecobank Pay truly eases the way I do business. It helps me to save time on accounting and auditing as such i have more time to focus on growing the business,” she said.

Ecobank Malawi Limited is part of the Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, the parent company of the Ecobank Group.

Ecobank Group employs over 14 000 people and serves about 29 million customers in the consumer, commercial and corporate banking sectors across 33 African countries.
