According to the itinerary the band has released, the tour will begin on August 8 at Karonga Museum Amphitheatre with Tiwonge Hango as the supporting artist before moving to Mzuzu Hotel’s Boma Park the following day.

A week later, the youthful band will be joined by Chalamanda and Edgar and Davis at Mibawa Cafe in Blantyre on August 15.

Lilongwe Golf Club will be their last venue to wind up the tour on August 16.

Lusubilo’s manager Manaseh Chisiza said the band has settled to perform with musicians who are also interested in developing Malawian music.

“Edgar and Davis have lived as examples that are determined to develop music from our origins and this is exactly what Lusubilo is doing. We thought of roping them in so that people can, for once, experience and appreciate the beauty of real Malawian music derived from our roots,” he said.

Davis said the trio is ready to support Lusubilo in the promotion of traditional music. He said the tour is important for the band, whose members are students at Karonga Music Centre, to put into practice the theory they learn in class.
