ETC Agro Tractor to sponsor Mr. City Pageant

ETC Agro Tractor and Implement Ltd, sponsors of the Mr. Malawi pageant said they will hold more events in Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Blantyre this year.

In an interview on Sunday, the firm’s managing director Zubair Sharikmaslat said through the pageants, they want to identify district winners to compete at national level.

“We plan to eventually have Mr. Olympic who will represent the country in international events. Through these pageants, we are also unearthing bodybuilders across the country while also developing the sport,” said Sharikmaslat.

National weightlifting and bodybuilding coach Chimwemwme Bakali expressed gratitude to ECT Agro Tractors for their investment in bodybuilding.

“It is something we were unable to do because of lack of funds. This is great news to all bodybuilders and those aspiring for the sport,” said Bakali.

Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association (WAM) vice-president Kelvin Saeluzika was equally ecstatic about the news.

“It is a great project and we are indebted to ECT Agro Tractors for such an undertaking. The project will completely transform the bodybuilding sport in the country. It is a step in the right direction,” he said.

ECT Agro Tractors invested over a million kwacha in the Mr. Malawi pageant which was won by Henry Master on Sunday.
