Favoured Martha takes new album to Lilongwe, Mzuzu

After an impressive launch in Blantyre a fortnight ago, gospel songbird Favoured Martha says Lilongwe and Mzuzu music fans should get ready for earth-shaking shows slated for November and December.

In an interview on Wednesday, Martha said after launching the 10-track album titled Mawa Limafika in the Southern Region, it is time for the Central and Northern regions.

“We are taking the album launch to Lilongwe on November 25 and the venue will be Sheafer. And a week later on December 2 it will be the Northern Region’s turn as we will launch the album at Boma Park,” she said.

Martha said the show in Lilongwe will be spiced up by performances by the Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango, Great Angels Choir, Maggie Mangani, Marvellous Deeds, Evance Meleka and Gift Phiri.

“And for the Mzuzu show, we have assembled a lineup of Donex Muva, Martha Kasambara, Gloria Fatch, Martha Nkhakomwa and many other top artists. Let people prepare to grace these shows and they will be blessed by the music,” she said.

According to Favoured Martha, the 10-track album is fused with a variety of rhythms to cater for different tastes.

One of Favoured Martha’s fans, Gloria Lifa said it is good to finally see the artist back on stage after her health issues.

“Not only is she back to good health, but she is giving us good vibes,” she said.

The album’s title track Mawa Limafika, has proven to be a masterpiece as it enjoys airtime on most radio stations in the country.

The album was recorded at Studio 88 in Lilongwe by Khumbo Kaliwo and Evance Meleka. It is currently on the market. n
