Ndirande Faith-Based Organisation (FBO) Living Word of God in Malawi on Monday launched a feeding programme that seeks to feed the elderly, orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) on a monthly basis.

Pastor James Genesis, director of the FBO said during the launch in the township such a group of people lacks strength to find food for themselves.

“We will help them spiritually and materially so that they grow healthier. We know widows, orphans lack support as well as security of their lives and it is the Word of God that can answer such problems,” said Genesis.

Genesis said it pains to see bereaved families seeking funeral assistance from politicians when the church congregating the deceased is there.

He appealed for the establishment of a committee to oversee the welfare of the FBO.

During the launch, 40 elderly persons and 35 OVCs were fed.

The guest of honour, Gerald Mponda advised the FBO committee members to jointly work with various organisations and companies to get more support.
