Fifa, has confirmed receiving a complaint from Flames coach: Tom Saintfiet, Flames coach

World football governing body, Fifa, has confirmed receiving a complaint from Flames coach Tom Saintfiet accusing his Nigerian counterpart Stephen Keshi of racism utterances.

In a response to The Nation’s questionnaire on Wednesday, Fifa Media Department refused to comment on their next course of action.

“We can confirm that we have received a complaint on the said matter, but please understand that we cannot comment any further at this stage,” Fifa said in a brief response.

Keshi is quoted as having made racist remarks on a UK radio when reacting to Saintfiet and FAM’s letter to Fifa that the Calabar venue of the Flames and the Super Eagles’ next month’s World Cup qualifier was unsafe.

Saintfiet, who once worked as Nigeria Football Federation technical director, argued that the fact that Nigeria Police was guaranteeing the security detail vindicates his fears over the safety concerns of Calabar.

Keshi opted to pick on Saintfiet who he meets in a tactical battle on September 7 2013 in a must-win last first-round World Cup qualifier.
