Flames’ new replica jerseys in
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) says the Flames’ replica jerseys are now on the market.
FAM marketing and commercial director Limbani Matola said in an interview yesterday that the jerseys, which arrived on Friday, are different from the initial
consignment.
He said: “These are replicas made from exact fibre of the playing jerseys which the team used during the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] in Cameroon.”
He also said the price is slightly higher as the jerseys are selling at K29 900, which is K1 900 more than the initial ones.
Said Matola: “Unlike the first consignment, which was printed MALAWI at the back, this version is not printed and, therefore, accords opportunity for customised printing at the back.
“It’s a high spec material fit for those who value class and quality. It is competitively priced at K29 900 to allow many Flames fans to access this highly sought after product.”
He also said this time around, FAM has ordered jerseys of all sizes.
A Blantyre-based Flames fan Patrick Msowoya hailed FAM for producing jerseys that are not printed MALAWI at the back.
He said: “Last time, I did not buy because I wanted to print either my name or that of Gaba [Gabadinho Mhango], unfortunately there was no space.”
Most of the replica jerseys in the first consignment sold fast, a development which was attributed to the team’s impressive performance at Afcon where they qualified for the knockout stage for the first time.
