Former Ntopwa player wins Zampira monthly prize
Former Ntopwa FC player Bester Namatcha has won the monthly K1.5 million prize in Zampira Pokopoko Promotion following a draw held yesterday in Blantyre.
Ironically, the 23-year-old Mpemba-based football fan predicted the 2-0 loss of his former team Be Forward Wanderers.
The Nyasa Big Bullets supporter was over the moon when TNM public relations and sponsorship manager Limbani Nsapato called to break the news.
“I have been predicting the results of several matches, but I never expected to win the top prize,” he said.
Since the condition of the monthly prize is that part of the money—K500 000—should go towards a team of the winner’s choice to buy equipment, Namatcha has opted to help Ntopwa.
“I played for Ntopwa FC when I was in school. I, therefore, pick them to benefit from the prize money,” he said.
With just three weeks before a draw to pick two lucky winners to watch a Real Madrid match, Nsapato urged supporters to intensify the predictions.
“We are delighted to announce that the draw for these winners will be conducted in the next three weeks to identify the two lucky fans,” he said.
“Our advice to the supporters is that they should keep the predictions coming to increase their chances of winning the trip to Spain.”
Meanwhile, TNM has shortlisted five players for the Supporters’ Player of the Month Award. Deus Nkutu (Moyale Barracks), John Soko (Blue Eagles), Richard Chimbamba (Ntopwa FC), Willie Sayenda (Mighty Tigers), and Banage Lweya (Kamuzu Barracks) will battle it out for the award.
