The national golf team steps into its last course of preparations this week ahead of a three-day Zone VI Tournament scheduled for Windhoek Golf and Country Club, Namibia, from April 22.

National coach Chris Kachiguma confirmed that 16 players started preparations in Lilongwe before relocating to Blantyre during the weekend of March 18-24.

“We are planning to have the last training camp next week before the team leaves for Namibia. The last camp might be in Blantyre or Lilongwe,” he said.

Meanwhile, hosts Namibia will hold a Namibian Open Championship on April 20 as a curtain-raiser for the Zone VI Tournament which will see 10 countries competing for the coveted title whose holders are South Africa.

According to www.inamibia.co.na , the Bank Windhoek will sponsor the Namibian Open which will also involve some Zone VI participants such as South Africa (eight players), Botswana (eleven players) and Kenya (nine players).
