Guta new Nedbank MD
Nedbank Malawi has appointed Paul Guta as its managing director effective December 1, the bank said in a press statement released last week.
The statement signed by the bank’s board chairperson Maziko Sauti Phiri says that the appointment follows a thorough and rigorous process from a pool of candidates with exceptional qualities.
Sauti Phiri said Guta joined Nedbank Malawi in August 2013 as head of sales, business development and marketing. He adds that within the short period, Guta demonstrated to the bank the desire, hunger and ability to lead Nedbank Malawi towards its strategic goal.
The bank notes that Guta’s contribution as head of sales, business development and marketing was highly valued and his knowledge of the sector in which the bank operates makes him a strong addition to the team.
Guta, a holder of a masters degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby and a bachelor of Science from University of Malawi, previously worked as head of International Development Group and Vehicle and Asset Finance at Standard Bank Malawi.
