Home Grown African will become the first group to headline all Kuphaka Life Campaign concerts in the country after their billing in the finale of the campaign in Lilongwe at Natural Resources College, a constituent of Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) this Saturday.

Hayze (real name Sindiso Msungama), a member of the hip hop duo, expressed excitement over their appearances at the shows.kuphaka-life

“We were requested by students of the participating colleges. And if we keep on appearing on the request list of every college, we take that as an honour,” he said.

Classick (real name Yankho Zulu) said: “As a brand we are growing. I remember us starting in rap competitions in our neighbourhood—representing our friends to representing a big brand such as Coca-Cola—that is an honour.”

Classick is expected to perform his latest song Bola Kunthazi at Daliso Chaponda’s LaughGate stand-up comedy performance at Bingu International Conference Centre the same night, soon after the Kuphaka Life show.

Home Grown African came on the music scene in 2009, but rose to stardom last year after releasing their songs Can You Hear Me and This Is Africa which they performed at the Lake of Stars Festival the same year.
