Speaking after the company showcased the product at the two-day National Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) Symposium at the Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe from June 1 to 2, Gu said they were pleased with the positive response to the product.

The product seeks to remove some of the obstacles in e-learning such as lack of proper equipment and infrastructure, lack of stable power supply in most schools and connectivity issues. It is an end-to-end solution which includes a learning management system, classroom digitisation, campus network connectivity and a digital power solution. Said the managing director:

We will continue working with the ministry and other industry stakeholders to help realise the goal of education for all in Malawi through technology.” Among other things, the Smart School Solution proposes the replacement of blackboards, whiteboards and projectors with advanced learning
technology through the use of IdeaHubs and EduBoards.

These innovations allow teachers to project from their smart devices, record course content as well as take notes,

save and send them directly to students learning in person or online. It also includes the Wi-Fi 7, a high-speed solution that can connect
to up to 128 devices using one access point, making it ideal for a classroom set-up.

On visiting the Huawei stand at the symposium, Minister of Education Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima hailed the company for contributing toe-learning which she described as ‘an important feature in global education trends’.After testing some of the IdeaHub’s interactive features, Wirima said: “With the Huawei’s Smart School Solution, learning has become very simple. ODeL is the sure path for making education for all a reality.”
Held under the theme: An Innovative, Technological and Knowledge-based ODeL Ecosystem: A Key to Human Capital Development, the symposium provided interested stakeholders with the opportunity to present their ODeL products and services.
