Illumination Assembly celebrates first anniversary

The Illumination Assembly Church, founded by Pastor Joseph Ziba, two weeks ago held activities to celebrate one year of existence in the country.
The celebrations began with a march from Kudya in Soche East to Upper Stadium in Blantyre.
During the march, members of the church wore anniversary T-shirts and distributed flyers and brochures along the Masauko Chipembere Highway in the city.
The climax of the celebrations came on Sunday, October 13 2013 when a mega church service was held at Comesa Hall.
Ziba, who is also founder of Fountain of Victory International Ministries, hailed the celebrations as a significant event for the church.
“We wanted to come together and celebrate what God has commissioned us to fulfil as Illumination Assembly. According to Psalms 118 v 24, there is a day that God expects people to celebrate what he has done and the Lord is surprised when he sees that you are quiet.
“Our celebrations were, therefore, in response to a place where God has put us since we started last year,’’ he said.
The celebrations were held under the theme Break out; a life without limitations.

Saint James CCAP Church in Blantyre on Sunday re-launched a project to build a multi-purpose facility at a cost of K400 million (US$1 081 081).
Session clerk Raban Banda said the project, which started in 2001, is expected to be completed in five years.
The project seeks to build a 1 800 capacity hall, an office park and an under-five clinic that will cater for surrounding communities.
“The initial cost of the project was at K76 million [US$205 405] and that was in 2001 but now it is expected to cost us K400 million and we are expecting to finish it in five years from now.
“We have 5 029 members and 2 000 Sunday school class members who are part of the project. We believe these members and other well-wishers will help us to raise the money,” said Banda.
