The vehicle, a 2.5 diesel engine, also comes with advanced features such as a touch screen display audio, an android auto car play, a fold and tumble with one-touch remote switch and a wireless phone charger.

In an interview after the unveiling ceremony held in Blantyre on Thursday, Imperial Motors Limited managing director Victor Middleton said the new SUV will fill the gap between Nissan Patrol and X-Trail models.

“Nissan Terra is packed with latest technologies like Nissan intelligence which means the car will be able to warn the user about the danger in front or behind. This feature will be seeing things you might miss while keeping the customer safe and unlocking the joy of driving.

“The car is also fuel efficient as it can take about 14 kilometres per litre and customers get a three- year 100 000 km warrant and a two-year 50 000 service plan,” he said. On his part, Imperial Motors Limited general manager Theodore Katandula said customers should expect more innovations from Nissan brands.
