Mitc courts businesses to Zim Fair

Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (Mitc) has courted the business community in the country to participate in the forthcoming 62nd Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (Zitf) to learn from their counterparts on how to excel in business.

Mitc public relations manager Deliby Chimbalu said Mitc believes the fair, slated for April 26 to 30 in Zimbabwe, will offer an opportunity for networking and learning.

Zitf is a great opportunity for businesses

In a statement made available to Business News, she said: “This is a great opportunity for Malawian businesses not only because it provides an opportunity to identify potential buyers of their products, but it is also a learning platform on how best they can adapt to the ever-changing global business environment.”

“The theme for the fair is particularly emphasising the need for businesses to be resilient and be able to craft and implement change strategies in the face of disruptions in the business environment.”

According to Chimbalu, the fair, which is targeting both small and medium enterprises as well as large corporations, also presents an ideal platform for the structural transformation required for supply chain optimisation in the face of global business disruptors like the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said: “The fair is being held under the theme, ‘Re-think, Re-image, Re-invent Value Chains for Economic Development’ which challenges businesses to adapt to new ways of doing business in the wake of the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Chamber for Small scale Businesses president James Chiutsi is on record as having said that it is important for businesses to look beyond borders in exploiting markets if they are to grow.
