MFR is a project by Nation Publications Limited (NPL) which mobilises medical supplies and equipment for maternity wings of public and mission health facilities in the country.

MFR Sleepover Challenge allows company executives and other top management members to spend a night at a health facility as a way of raising funds for the project as well as experience challenges medical officers and expectant mothers face when delivering babies.

In an interview yesterday, Lwanda said she will take part in the event as a way of “contributing to the change I want to see in our hospitals”.

Katete said “my participation will encourage health workers to continue serving mothers and their babies with love, zeal and professionalism”.

Chimchere is the only man participating in event tonight.

“I am participating because I want mothers and their babies to get quality services from our hospitals,” he said.

NPL marketing manager Albert Banda said MFR Sleepover Challenge is getting overwhelming support from well-wishers.

“I am happy that many people continue to support and mobilise resources for the project,” he said.

This year, MFR is set to raise K300 million for health facilities in Ntcheu and Likoma districts.
