While the casket was carried on the shoulders of the military officers to the Dias on the apron for prayer, the crowd that thronged the airport broke down in loud cries.

At 16.30, Malawi President Joyce Banda, who was elevating Traditional Authority (T/A) Chiwalo to Senior Chief arrived to condole the family on her way back.

Banda wearing a solemn face, proceeded to view the body of Kazembe.

She has served in various portfolios in the former president the late Bingu wa Mutharika and Banda’s administrations.
