Kenyan Afro-pop band Sauti Sol will bring their blend of warm resonant pop and traditional influences to Lilongwe this September.

They will be joining two Johannesburg acts announced last week – TUMI and Reason4Audio3D plus many more as headliners of the City of Stars festival.

Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, the Lake of Stars Project is staging a two-day, multi-venue arts festival and conference showcasing the best in emerging and acclaimed talent from Malawi and beyond at Sanctuary Lodge in Lilongwe, from 27 to 28 September 2013.

Sauti Sol is an award-winning, four-member afro-pop band from Nairobi, Kenya. Band members Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Delvin Mudigi and Polycarp Otieno met in high school. They decided to do music professionally in 2006 right after they finished high school.

City of Stars will feature an eclectic programme of live music, film, theatre, literature, exhibitions and speakers, and will promote Malawian culture and creativity.
