Limbikani Mtewa, known in music circles as L.I.M, has released a new extended playlist (EP).

He is the new gospel hip-hop sensation with a knack for blending real life expressions in his music.

L.I.M: I discovered that a lot of believers pretend to be holy

The Zomba-based musician on Saturday released the new EP titled God’s Cure For Hypocrisy.

To come up with the new EP, L.I.M has worked with renowned artists such as Saxxes, Penjani and Regenerate, among others.

He said: “After I quit secular music in 2014, I got born-again and started following Christian local and international hip-hop artists the likes of Da T.R.U.T.H, David Kalirani, Lecrae and Andy Mineo.

“I got motivated that I could also rap while serving God.”

The musician said the EP carries praises, repentance and advises some born-again believers to stop being hypocritical as Christ is coming again very soon.

He said: “There is no any other sacrifice that will be given again by God if we continue deliberately sinning.

“I discovered that a lot of believers pretend to be holy yet behind the walls they put on masks and engage in evil activities but when Sunday comes, they are saints.”

The artist added that he is overwhelmed by the support he is receiving from fellow artists and his fans.

“I do not take my fans and fellow musicians for granted. They are amazing. I have performed a few shows and they have shown me nothing, but love. I feel so encouraged,” he said.

Produced by Pro Grace and Ace Tee of Raiz Music, the EP carries songs like Prelude, Nsembe Yanga, Mundikonzenso, Setup, Wandikhululukira and God’s Cure For Hypocrisy.

Currently, the new project is available on various online platforms such as Amazon, Spotify, iTunes, Boomplay, among others.

Music critic Mavuto Sibale said it is refreshing to note that there is proliferation of Christian hip-hop.

“Having Christian rappers is changing the narrative of hip-hop. Many who felt the genre is for negative things now realise that it is just a channel of communication,” he said. n
