Lab Enterprise Match Play on this afternoon
Lester Tandwe has said he is not moved by the prospect of taking to the course against Furkan Gani in a Lab Enterprise singles final qualifying match at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) this afternoon.
Gani booted out defending champion Nestor Msowoya, but, Tandwe, who beat Milton Macheka, said he is not losing his sleep over Gani’s feat.
“As has been in the previous rounds, I am not having any special preparations. Just keeping fit that is all.
“I am not intimidated by his victory over the defending champion. In fact, I get motivated by challenges. Furkan is a good player and that fact is what will bring the best out of me,” said Tandwe.
Gani also said he is all set for the showdown and is confident of making it to the finals.
In another potentially tough semi-final match, Margaret Mukwenha, who carries ladies’
hopes, will take on Francis Mwansa.
In the doubles, overall champions Edwin Chipala and
Donbell Mandala will face the pair of Adriano Guarinho and Andrew Santhe on Sunday while the Kalambule couple, Mesdon and Sophie will face Golf Union of Malawi (GUoM) president James Chimwaza and Mayamiko Kalizang’oma.
