In a bid to support two ailing music legends Lucius and Paul Banda, artist Lulu has organised fundraising shows.

The two brothers are unwell and require further medical treatment outside Malawi. However, they need funds to cater for flights and hospital bills.

Lulu: The first show is on June 27

Moved by the urgent needs of the two, award-winning artist, Lulu will hold shows nationwide to raise money to go towards their hospital bills.

“The first show is on June 27 at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe. This is the show that I decided to do in support of Lucius and his family; Paul and Francis,” said Lulu in an interview.

Dubbed Get Well Soon Concert: In Support of Lucius Banda and Family Members, the artist said the shows are his way of supporting ‘Soldier’ and thanking him for his contribution to his career.

“Being in Zembani Band for more than 12 years, Lucius became my brother, mentor and father. When I heard that he was not well, I was so down and felt for him being a breadwinner,” he said.

Some of the artists joining Lulu on this venture are Wendy Harawa, Kell Kay, Joseph Nkasa, Saint, Macelba, Sam Smak, Nepman, Blaze and Dan Chazama.

Fans have positively received the news of the tour.

“Keep up the good work Mr Khwisa! Lucius and Paul Banda are icons in the music industry in our country and have supported so many people in the past,” responded Isaiah Banda to Lulu’s call for support on Facebook.
