“Malawi Gin represents the people of Malawi. We just have to be part of the festival, which also identifies with the people. Our DNAs are similar,” he said.

He said a bottle of Malawi Gin will be given to individuals who will buy a ticket for the festival, with a limited others distributed across Malawi.

Speaking at the same conference, ‘Soldier’ Lucius Banda thanked Castel Malawi for the partnership and asked the company to keep supporting arts events.

“It’s not easy for us to meet all the costs involved in organising these events. This is a Malawian baby and all of us need to show ownership,” he said.

Banda then announced that he will perform at the Sandfest. He demonstrated this by making a cameo performance backed by Sam Smack.

The legendary artist was joined by his wife Sunganani and other members of the Zembani Band and Impakt Events Management.
