Malawi and South Africa senior netball teams will renew their rivalry today (Friday) at 4 pm  when they meet in the final of the Africa Netball Championship taking place at the Blantyre Youth Centre.

The Queens defeated Uganda’s She Cranes 55-46 whereas the Spar Proteas eased past Zambia 66-48 in another semifinal for pool B to make the final cut.

The final against South Africa this afternoon will be a real test for the Queens as Proteas strength lies in their quick passing game.

The South Africans are also tactical, tall and sharp shooters.

Since throwing off the tournament on Monday, Malawi Queens main concern has been defending, but coaching assistant Mary Waya told Nation Online they have tightened up all loose ends ahead of the final.

“We have made sure the defenders leave no room for South Africa to maneuver, all bolts and nuts have been tightened, because that was our

main worry,” said Waya.

The eight-member competition threw off on Monday and ends today Friday.
