 Malawi to face beach soccer champs Senegal

 Malawi Beach Soccer National Team has been drawn in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations finals Group A alongside defending champions Senegal.

The group also has Mauritania and neighbours Mozambique while Group B has the hosts Egypt, Morocco Tanzania and Ghana.

This follows a draw held yesterday at Confederation of African Football (CAF)  headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Kumilambe: We are
prepared to meet any team

Beach Soccer National Team coach Willy Kumilambe has welcomed the draw, saying they are prepared to meet any team.

This will be Malawi’s second appearance at the finals, having also reached the last Beach Soccer Afcon edition in Mozambique in 2022.

Malawi finished sixth out of seven at the tournament after losing to Morocco, Mozambique and Uganda.

The 2024 tournament will take place from October 19 to 26 in the city of Hurghada, Egypt.

This will be the sixth edition of the tournament and the champions will qualify for the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup
