Minister of Homeland Security Jean Sendeza says government is in talks with Zambian authorities to have LuKe handed over to face trial in Malawi.

The Chinese, also known as Susu, is wanted in Malawi for exploiting children at

Njewa in Lilongwe, where he is suspected to have made racist videos involving the children and made a fortune out of them.

The suspect fled to Zambia where he was arrested and convicted of illegal entry.

Sendeza: Government is in talks with
Zambian authorities

Asked yesterday what government is doing to ensure justice for children that were allegedly exploited by Susu, Sendeza said government is in talks with Zambian authorities to hand over Lu Ke to Malawi.

She said: “We are talking to our counterparts in Zambia so that he must be brought to Malawi to be prosecuted. He is still in Zambia.”

Sendeza could not state when Susu is expected to be back, saying once the Zambian Government is done with him, he will have to be brought to Malawi.

She added: “The children need to be compensated. He took advantage of them and it is not right”

Meanwhile, Zambia Department of Immigration public relations officer Namati Nshinka has said they will issue a statement on the matter at an appropriate time.

In its recent statement signed by Nshinka, Lu Ke was charged with illegal entry and unlawful stay and was fined 13 000 Zambian kwacha for both counts or in default serve nine months in prison.

The Chinese paid the fine.
