American gospel singer Travis Greene is this Sunday set to headline gospel songstress Wendy Harawa’s Wandiyitana album launch at the Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc) in Lilongwe. Ahead of his performance in the capital city this weekend, Greene said in an interview with The Nation that he feels blessed to be visiting Malawi.

“I cannot believe it has taken this long to get here in person. It definitely will not be the last time. You [Malawians] truly hold a special place in my heart,” he said in an interview.

The renowned international gospel star said his Malawian fans should expect the best from him and that he is looking forward to a time of great worship on Sunday.

He said: “My expectations are higher. As with any show, I am excited to spend time with people who come to experience God through worship. I have waited for a long time to come here and I know you are going to show up and give God the glory he deserves.”

The American has indicated that he is coming with a full backing band and promised to make the Bicc arena a place of joyful energy come Sunday evening.

Wandiyitana is Wendy’s second gospel album after Mundisunge Ndinu. The artist said preparations for the launch of the 12-track album are going on well and that they are currently doing final touches.

“The day is special to me in different ways. We will have many anointed ministers of God from USA, Zambia and Malawi in one place. People should anticipate something bigger and greater to happen.

“I have matured more than I have ever been. People should expect the best from me. They should come in large numbers and experience what I have in store for them,” said Harawa.

Travis Greene is expected to arrive in the country tomorrow. The show will be supported by music maestro Lulu, Abel Chungu from Zambia and Paul Kachala.
