MBC donates K2.5m items to Cyclone survivors

Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has reached out to 261 Tropical Cyclone Freddy Survivors at Lisawo Camp in the area of Traditional Authority Mpama in Chiradzulu district with assorted items worth over K2.5million.

The items comprised Soya pieces, maize flour, laundry soap, cooking oil, sugar, salt, plastic basins, plastic sheets and clothes.

MBC public relations and customer affairs manager Chisomo Mwamadi, who was accompanied by programmes manager (development broadcasting unit) Joshua Chirwa, said they institution felt duty-bound to help the survivors

This is the second time the public broadcaster has donated to storm victims as over a week ago they also distributed items worth over K2million to 176 survivors at Chisamba Camp in the area of Senior Chief Nthiramanja, Mulanje.
