MSC Green in awesome Xero Cricket start
Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) Green roared to a good start in the K750 000 Xerographics 8-A-Side Cricket Tournament on Sunday after beating hosts Indian Sports Club-2 (ISC) by 70 runs.
Their 150-80 runs triumph has put them at the summit of Group B. They are followed by MSC Orange who made 144 runs to outsmart MSC Purple by 46 runs at the ISC.
MSC Grey emerged Group A leaders after thrashing Cricket Academy 1 by 51 runs.
MSC Grey registered 193 runs against the Academy’s 142. ISC-1 team is now second in command in the group. They overcame MSC Veterans with a 152-128 runs win.
According to Southern Region Cricket League (SRCL) chairperson Shiraz Zaveri, they are impressed with how the 16-overs contest has started.
The competition, which will run for six weeks, involves 10 teams that have been divided in two equal groups.
Top four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
